Monkey Mia is a beach in Western Australia. This is probably the best place in the world to observe the dolphins, that swim here every day to get fish from people. There are also a lot of emus and pelicans. Interesting hiking trails around the dunes give opportunity to understand the life of native aborigines. Shore and seabed: sand.
[edit]
Hotels [edit]
Monkey Mia has the only hotel, mostly focused on the vancampers. Private room rates start from US$100 per night.
10 miles to the southwest, in the Denham town the choice of hotels is much better, but these are not cheap.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Perth international airport (PER). Next move by taxi about 300 miles to the north.
You may also take a flight from Perth to
Shark Bay airport (MJK) located near the Monkey Mia.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Monkey Mia is a warm period from November to May. However even that time sea water doesn't warm up to a comfortable temperature.
