Motu Tuanai island
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Motu Tuanai is the minor island of
Maupiti atoll, where
Maupiti Airport is located. Surprise, but the best beach can be found right near the airport (near the pier). It has good entry into the water with a decent depth. The rest of the coastline is very shallow. However, if you walk long enough, it is possible to reach deep water area of the lagoon. As for the landscapes, these are amazing - with palms and sandbanks. And there are usually no people around, since the islet is not popular among tourists. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
