Muanda beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Muanda (Moanda) is the only ocean beach in Congo (former Zair). It is quite safe here, - unlike dangerous east side of this large country. The coastline itself is sometimes referred as
Tonde beach. There are a lot of trees, as well as occasional palms. The sand is soft, while entry into the water is smooth. Unfortunately, there is also some negative. First, the water is slightly muddy due to the great river Congo flown into the ocean nearby. Second, offshore oil and gas platforms are everywhere around. This does not lead to any notable pollution. But everything is expensive, since employees of oil companies also like to spend their time by the sea. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Hotel La Beviour is the only seaside resort available for the online booking. Rooms' fares start from $US200 per night, but value for money is Ok.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Muanda airport (MNB). Next take a taxi or just walk on your own.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Muanda is a dry season from April to October. Unfortunately, ocean water is rather cold that time. But the coastal weather conditions are great.
