Mussulo beach

Mussulo is a popular beach near Luanda, Angola. This is a barrier island (in fact a peninsula 30 km long) with diverse and beautiful coast line. The resort area is located in the inner lagoon, so the sea is always warm and without waves. But the water is rather muddy. In addition, there is often a lot of pollution from Luanda. The choice of hotels is limited in Mussulo. However, in the neighboring Luanda, there are many accommodation options with rooms' rates ranging from US$80 to US$500 per night. The cheapest guesthouses should to be booked at least a few months in advance.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Luanda international airport (LAD). Next hire a taxi to Embarcadouro or to the Slave Museum, and take a public boat to the beach of Mussulo.

When to go [edit]

The best time to relax on the beaches of Luanda is a period from November to April, when sea water is warmest. Unfortunately, this is a rainy season as well (especially November). But the water is too refreshing for swimming during the cold time.
