Nice beach

Nice is the major beach resort town of the French Riviera. The coast is long with scenic promenade with palms. Unfortunately, there are no trees right on the beach. While the swimming on a pebble sea bottom is not quite comfortable. However, this is still a great town with many beautiful old buildings. It is worth to stay for a couple of nights in an expensive historical hotel - like Negresco. Shore and seabed: pebbles. [edit]

Rooms in beachfront hotels of Nice start from US$200 per night. In general, if you walk far from the beach, hotels will be cheaper. However, there are no real beachfront resorts in Nice. So it makes no sence to stay right near the water's edge.

Fly to Nice international airport (NCE). Next get by train to Nice-Ville station.
