Number One beach

Number One is a great wild beach with an arch in the north of Dominica. This is not the best beach on the island, but definetely one of the best. The legend says, that some episodes of Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3 were filmed here. This is a hard-to-reach place without tourists and without any kind of amenities. The bad thing is that, there are often dangerous currents. The west end of the beach features a creek flowing into the sea (the Hampstead River). Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

Hampstead has a limited number of hotels, or these are not presented in the international reservation systems. So it is best to choose a suitable accommodation option in the nearby town of Calibishie located just to the east.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Douglas–Charles airport (DOM) or fly to Canefield airport (DCF). Next get by taxi or by bus to Hampstead town and walk about 10-15 minutes towards the sea (on the way back you'll have to climb up the hill).

The best time for a holiday on the beach of Number One is a dry period from December to May.
