Palolem is the best beach in Goa. It is hard to find a place under the palm due to the beach cafes and bungalows. Also there's always a lot of people during the high season. However, it doesn't spoil the holiday. Unique positive atmosphere (rare not only in India but in the whole World) is the key feature of this place. Also, in a contrast to the beaches of North Goa, there are no strong waves. Shore and seabed: sand.
[edit]
Hotels [edit]
There are no upscale resorts near the beach. Almost all accommodation options are primitive cheap bungalows with rooms' fares starting from 400 rupees per night. However, even in a high season, you can easily find a room just when you arrive to the beach.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Goa-Dabolim international airport (GOI). Next, take a taxi for 1000 rupees. The journey will take about half an hour. Since exchange rate is pretty bad in the airport, ask taxi driver to stop somewhere on the way, so that you can exchange dollars/euros to rupees (this is a local currency).
When to go [edit]
The best time for a holiday on Palolem beach is a winter half of the year. It is best to avoid summer months, as it is heavily rains this period.
