Pasikuda & Kalkudah beach

Pasikuda & Kalkudah - two different beaches in the eastern Sri Lanka, but located just nearby. Pasikuda Beach is in the northern small bay. Kalkuda Beach stretches for miles to the south. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

There is about a dozen hotels near the beach. In general price level is high.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Colombo airport.

By bus. In Colombo catch a bus following via Polonnaruwa to Batti. Leave the bus in Valachchenei town. Next take a 6 km ride by tuk-tuk. (There is also bus route from Batticaloa to Valachchenei.)

By train. Take a train following from Colombo to Batticaloa. Get off at Valachchenei station.

When to go [edit]

Any time, except for the rainy season, which lasts from April to June and from September to November.
