Pellestrina beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Pellestrina is a beach on a separate island located to the south of Venice, Italy. It's a little further than Lido, but less crowded. The beach is beautiful, but looks somewhat abandoned. There are many huts made of sticks, snags and different kind of trash. It's funny, but also depressing. There are many breakwaters, as well as underwater breakwaters running along the entire coast. So sea water is almost always calm and clear. It is possible to get here by car using a ferry service. You can also get from Venice in an hour by bus N or 11 to the stop of
Madonna dell'Apparizione (ID 4622) (ferry + bus). Shore and seabed: sand, pebbles.
