Playa Costa Azul is a hotel beach to the south of Santa Marta Airport, Colombia. The place is quite comfortable, and feels almost like a private beach being somewhat upscale. There is a large resort with lots of swimming pools, as well as apartments and even villas. Unfortunately, the beach is still not beautiful enough by the tropical standards, while sea water is not quite clear. In addition, it is located relatively far from Santa Marta, while taxi service is rather expensive. But on the other hand, it's not so bad, since hotels' non-guests can rarely be seen on the beach. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
