Playa del Cerro beach

Playa del Cerro is a beach in the west of Montevideo, Uruguay. There is nice soft sand, as well as a good park nearby. The swimming is comfortable. But there is a problem of strong low tides. However, it is still possible to walk to the depth. Sometimes there is a lot of garbage. But anyway everything is quite acceptable. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

There are no hotels near the beach of Playa del Cerro. However, it makes no sence to stay in this side of the city. As for the locals, this is a great option to relax by the sea.

Fly to Montevideo international airport (MVD). Next get by bus or hire a taxi.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in Uruguay are January and February. Since sea water is very cold the rest of the year.
