Playa La Arenisca beach

Playa La Arenisca is the westernmost beach in Uruguay. It makes no sense to move further to the west, since estuary of Uruguay River is located there. The place is cozy and beautiful. But it's not very good as a beach. Since sea water is muddy and shallow, while there are mangroves to the south of the beach. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

Fly to Montevideo international airport (MVD). Next get by bus or hire a taxi.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in Uruguay are January and February. Since sea water is very cold the rest of the year.
