Playa La Colorada beach

Playa La Colorada is a small beach in the western suburbs of Montevideo, Uruguay. This is a pleasant place during the high season. It is clean, beautiful and even has a lifeguard tower. However, everything is quite depressing in winter. It is possible to get here by bus or by taxi. But both options are not very reliable. Shore and seabed: sand, stones. [edit]

There are no hotels right near La Colorada beach. The nearest hotel is located in the west - within a walking distance. This is the five-star La Baguala Hotel de Campo y Chacras (from US$200 per night).

Fly to Montevideo international airport (MVD). Next get by bus or hire a taxi.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in Uruguay are January and February. Since sea water is very cold the rest of the year.
