Playa Matamora beach

Playa Matamora is a beach in the eastern suburbs of Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. Sand dunes have poor vegetation, but it's beautiful anyway. Casa Matamora Posada is a guesthouse located within a walking distance from the beach. Rooms are basic, but good enough. The place is in the middle of nowhere. So you'll have to bring everything you need. However, the hotel offers delicious lunches.

Fly to Montevideo international airport (MVD). Next get by bus or hire a taxi.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in Uruguay are January and February. Since sea water is very cold the rest of the year.
