Playa Pocitos beach
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Playa Pocitos is the main city beach of Montevideo in Uruguay. The beach is beautiful - with white sand and good promenade. As for high-rise buildings, these are quite fine. So the place doesn't feel overdeveloped. The water is dark, thus being not quite perfect for swimming. But everybody swims anyway. There are crowds of visitors during the weekends (in summer). But there is still enough space for all of sunbathers. Occasional trash can be found in the sand. There is no toilet or shower. Shore and seabed: sand.
