Praia de Bainema is the best beach on
Boipeba island, Brazil. It is very difficult to get here. Thus you'll get a perfect tropical beach with just a few tourists. There is also a good bar called
Pontal De Bainema, and even some hotels. Please note, that usually you have to walk for a long time in the water for a depth. As a result, the sea goes far away from palms during the low tide. But it's not a real problem. Anyway, this is a great spot! Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
[edit]
Hotels [edit]
Surprise, but few accommodation options are available right in the north end of Bainema beach. Rooms' fares range from US$20 to US$150 per night, so anyone can find a suitable option.
However, you should not expect too much, if you pay a minimal price. This is not Thailand. So the cheap room can't be good.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Salvador da Bahia international airport (SSA). Then you have three options to get to
Morro de Sao Paulo:
- plane (20 min per way, US$90 for the return);
- boat/ferry (2 hours per way over the choppy ocean, US$25 for the return);
- public transportation by the mainland (4 hours per way, US$10 for the return, - ferry from
Terminal Maritimo São Joaquim to
Itaparica, next take a bus to
Valença and then get by ferry to
Morro de São Paulo).
Once you are in Morro de Sao Paulo, then it's left just to pass another 20 km to the south :) You may walk, or get by boat, or choose public transportation by the ground. In any case, it won't be expensive. Ask locals for options that are available at the moment, and you will understand what is the best for you.
When to go [edit]
The beach of Praia de Bainema has a great weather any time of year. May is the rainiest month. But it's not so bad anyway - just about 160 mm of average rainfall.
