Prainha beach

Prainha is a wild beach in the west of Rio de Janeiro. There are beautiful mountains and clear water. However, it's not safe to swim due to the strong waves. This beach is more suitable for surfing. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

There are no hotels by the beach. The nearest hotels are located just to the east in the area called Recreio dos Bandeirantes. As it's far from the cental Rio, room's prices are very cheap.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GIG). Next hire a taxi. Never catch a taxi on the street! You may just go to the nearest cafe or hotel, and ask to call a taxi for you.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in Rio de Janeiro is a warm period from October to April.
