Puerto Chicama - is the iconic surf beach in Peru with the longest wave in the world (up to 4 km). In reality, you are unlikely to ride more than 2 km, but it's still cool. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Fly to
Lima International Airport (LIM). Next get to Trujillo town: by plane ($80, 1 hour) or by bus ($10-30, 8 hours). Next get to Puerto Chicama by taxi or by bus.
When to go [edit]
The best time for surfing in Peru is a period from June to September, though sea water is cold this time.
