Puthenthodu beach
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
Puthenthodu is a beach being the closest one to the south of Kochi - in Kerala, India. This is a beautiful place with palms and smooth entry into the water. The swimming is safe only in shallows near the water's edge. But if you move to the depth, there are strong waves and dangerous currents. Unfortunately, local lifeguard doesn't allow to enter the water. Probably, it makes sense to ignore him and to sit in the shallow water. The place is usually not crowded, - especially during the weekdays. For unclear reasons, locals prefer to drive to more remote beaches. Shore and seabed: sand.
