Railay beach

Railay - peninsula in Krabi province. Considered to be one of the best beach destinations on the Andaman coast of Thailand mainly due to the stunning view of the karst rocks located around. Hotels [edit]

There are only several hotels located directly on the peninsula. So if you have not found a suitable option, feel free to choose any hotel in the nearby Ao Nang village.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Krabi International Airport (KBV). Next take a bus or taxi to Ao Nang village. Journey by bus will take one hour, and costs 150 bahts. Taxi costs from 600 bahts and takes 30 minutes.

There is a constant boat connection between Ao Nang and Railey (boat departs when full). Boat costs 100 baht per person per one way, and takes about 15 minutes. Boats are running untill 6pm. After that time only private transfer is possible, the cost is quite high but can be negotiated.

In the dry season from December to April.

You may also get here in the summer, but keep in mind that even if you catch a sunny day, sea water will be too warm, and sometimes blooming.

Useful information [edit]

Rock climbing is a popular attaction in Raylay. If climb to the top, you can get a spectacular view. Nevertheless, we don't recommend to do this. Even if you are in a good physical contition, it is very hard to climb up the hill in the tropical heat.
