Ras Madrakah beach

Ras Madrakah is a beach to the south of Duqm major town in Oman. There is also a small village nearby. This is a great spot to walk along the ocean. But the swimming is usually not good enough due to strong waves. However, if you walk to the left, it is possoble to find natural pools in the rocks - with most famous place marked on the map as Ras Madrakah Cave - coordinates 18.969915, 57.803127. Hotels [edit]

There are a few basic guesthouses near the beach of Ras Madrakah. However, camping and open fire are prohibited according to the sign placed not far from the beach. However, locals (Omanis) ignore all restrictions without any problems. As for foreign tourists, it is probably worth first try to ask local authorities about camping permit.

Fly to Muscat International Airport (MCT) or fly to Salalah International Airport (SLL). Next get by bus or hire a taxi.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in Oman is spring and autumn. Summer and winter are also good enough, but sea water is cooler. In winter - because it is winter, and in summer - because there are a lot of clouds in the sky.
