San Domino island
Ultimate guide (December 2024)
San Domino is the main island in
Tremiti archipelago located off the north coast of Apulia, Italy. This is a beautiful spot, but there is just one good sandy beach (
Cala delle Arene). So it is totally packed with paid sunbeds, while free area is tiny. But anyway, it is very pleasant to swim in the water, so the place is worth a visit. As for the rest of the island, it is more suitable for hiking and snorkeling over stones in a clear water. Probably this could be considered as a beach somewhere in Croatia. But for Italy it's just a coastal rocks. Shore and seabed: stones, sand.

Hotels [edit]
Rooms in San Domino hotels starts from US$160 per night. So the average price tag is high enough due to exclusive location on the popular tourist island. However, it's quite like that in most other popular resort destinations in the mainland Italy.
So feel free to choose any suitable accommodation, since all of these are located in the village - within a walking distance from the best island's beaches - both sandy or rocky.
