San Nicola island

San Nicola is the second popular island in the Tremiti group, Italy. There is a building looking like an old castle, as well as many hiking trails with scenic views. As for the beaches, everything is not so good. The main beach near the port is pretty nice, but very overcrowded. There is also a small wild beach on the west coast of the island, but it is very hard to get there. The island is not so crowded like the neighboring San Domino, but this is still a very touristic destination. So you should not expect any seclusion in the high season. Shore and seabed: stones. Hotels [edit]

La Casa di Gino is an excellent property with panoramic views from the terrace. Rooms's fares start from US$190 per night - including breakfast. The price tag is very reasonable, since this is the only hotel on the island.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Bari airport (BRI). Get by the local train to Termoli station. Next get by Tirrenia ferry - on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in San Nicola island is a warm period in the summer half of the year.
