Sokcho is a popular city beach in South Korea. It's rather mediocre, but quite Ok to spend a weekend by the sea. Near the central entrance to the beach, there are usually a lot of people, so it makes sense to walk a little to the south. Iconic
Seorak Mountain is located not far from the town. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Near the beach of Sokcho, there are many hotels with rooms' fares starting from US$40 per night. However, you should book much in advance to get such a price.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Seoul–Incheon international airport (ICN). Then take a bus to the city of Sokcho (2.5 hours) and walk about 5 minutes to the beach. Please note that the central city beach is much better than the beaches located in the suburbs.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Sokcho is August, when sea water becomes relatively warm. Unfortunately, this is a rainy season, but you'll have no choice, as the dry period is in the cold winter half of the year.
