Sotavento is a perfect surfer beach in
Fuerteventura island in the Canary Islands. It is also good for swimming, when it's not windy. There are no trees near the coast, so bring a parasol with you. Shore and seabed: sand.
[edit]
Hotels [edit]
Costa Calma is the nearest town to the beach. There are no hotels directly next to the beach. The nearest hotels are located 2.5 km north of the beach. It's about half an hour of a walking. Hotels are pretty good and cheap, as elsewhere in the Canary Islands.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Fuerteventura Airport (FUE). Next take a 60 km journey to the south by a taxi or by bus.
Please note, that if you first arrive to another of the Canary Islands, there is a well-developed ferry connection between the islands. However, in many cases it will be faster and cheaper to fly by plane from one island to another.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the Canary Islands is August-September. There are crowds everywhere in summer. As for windsurfing, the strongest wind is usually from June to August.
