Sottomarina beach

Sottomarina is a popular beach in the southern suburbs of Venice, Italy. It is also the closest beach to Padua. The beach is good. And there is even a decent Old Town nearby - in Chioggia town. Since the beach is very long, you can always find a place to the south without crowd of tourists, - as well as a campsite. After a storm, there is usually a lot of trash washed away from the sea. Near Sottomarina beach, there is a good choice of hotels with rooms' fares ranging from US$100 to US$300 per night. It is slightly cheaper than Venice. So in summer, it makes sense to stay in Sottomarina making just occasional visits of Venice by boat tours.

Fly to Venice - Marco Polo international airport (VCE), or fly to Treviso airport (TSF), or fly to Verona airport (VRN). Next get by taxi or by bus.
