Temae is the best public beach on the
island of Moorea in French Polynesia. The beach is long, with palms and white sand, as well as with toilets and showers. In some places, the water edge is stony, but just a few meters further, there is a sandy bottom again. The snorkeling is good closer to the home reef (200 m from the coastline), which also protects the beach from strong waves. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
In the west end of the beach, there is a 5-star
Sofitel resort with room's rates starting from US$450 per night. In the surrounding area, there are also several other hotels - both relatively cheap, as well as very expensive options.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Tahiti International Airport (PPT). Next fly to
Moorea airport (MOZ) or take a
ferry (50 minutes per way, US$15).
Despite the small distance between Tahiti and Moorea, a flight still makes sense, as the water is often choppy in the channel.
From airport to the beach, it is possible to walk in 5-10 minutes. While from the port of Vaiare, you'll have to walk about half an hour, or get by taxi, which is very expensive in Moorea.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a holiday on Temae beach in the island of Moorea is a dry period from April to September.
