Thrown Sand beach

Thrown Sand is a unique wild beach with a sand dune - in the north of Albania. You can slide down the sand from high hill. While the swimming is very nice as well. Of course, there are also places like that in Europe. But Atlantic Ocean is very cold in France. While it is just a desert in the Canary Islands - also with a cold sea water. But in Albania, it is warm Mediterranean Sea, and a lot of trees everywhere. If you try to get here by car, it is possible to get by 4WD vehicle only. And there are often traffic jams. Hotels [edit]

The only hotel on the beach of Thrown Sand is Prince Adriatic Resort - with rooms' rates starting from US$150 per night. It is overpriced due to its exclusive location. So it is much better to stay a little further to the south - in the town of Shengjin. It is still in a walking distance from the dune, but rooms' fares start from as low as US$40 per night.

Fly to Tirana international airport (TIA). Next take a taxi or get by bus.

The best time for a beach holiday in Albania is a warm period from June to September.
