Torre San Giovanni is a major seaside resort on the Ionian coast in Apulia, Italy. The town's seafront is rocky and somewhat ugly. As for the good sandy beach, it can be found to the south-east - in the direction of
Fontanelle village. Near the marina, there is a fancy lighthouse built in the 16th century. Try not to swim here, as the water is heavily polluted. Further away, there is a nice beach with breakwaters and a small islet to swim to. If you move next further away, there is a wild coast with dunes. Everywhere, entry into the water is smooth with wide shallows, thus being great for small children. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.
