Hotels [edit]
Uoleva island has few small hotels of different price rates, including very cheap options. The most notable one is
Serenity Beaches Resort (from US$100 per room) in the south end of the island.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Tonga International Airport (TBU). Next fly to
Haʻapai-Lifuka Airport (HPA) or take a ferry to Lifuka island.
Uoleva Island lies directly to the south off the Lifuka island. There is a shallow sandspit between the islands, you can just walk on your own at low tide. However, it's not safe enough.
In most cases, tourists take a hotel's boat transfer. It is also possible to rent a boat from one of the dive centers on a daily basis.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Tonga's Uoleva island is a dry cool season from May to October. Whale watching is possible during the period from July to October.
