Varadero City beach
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Varadero City is a low key beach located to the southwest of the main Varadero beach in
Cuba. There are no upscale five star beachfront resorts. Since most of accommodation options are guesthouses, as well as occasional three star beachfront hotels. This beach is even better than more luxury main beach of Varadero. First, the entire coast faces the west, so no algae coming from the Atlantic ocean. Second, still there are many relatively wild areas with sand dunes and beautiful tropical vegetation. So this is a great spot for independent tourists. Of course, this is Cuba, so the choice of goods in local "supermarkets" is limited. But in any guesthouse, the owner will bring you almost anything that you want, as well as prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for a reasonable price. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
Varadero Downtown has a lot of apartments from US$40 per night. Conditions are usually quite decent. And sometimes it is possible to find outstanding options for a reasonable price tag. This place is great for families and large companies, since up to six people can stay in spacious apartments for about US$50 per night. And all of this is located just near the superb beach!
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Varadero international airport (VRA) or fly to
Havana international Airport (HAV). Next take a taxi.
When to go [edit]
Feel free to relax on the beaches of Cuba any time of year, - but the best is period from November to April. As for the summer half of the year, it's a low season. But it's still very good. Please also note, that on the northern coast of Cuba sea water is warm enough only in the summer half of the year.
