Velassaru Maldives is a five-stars island resort in the Maldives,
South Male atoll, - close to the airport. In general, this is a perfect tropical paradise. A small disadvantage is that almost everywhere the trees are far from the shore. So there's no chance to find palm trees hanging over the water. As for the reef snorkelling, it is also not the best. Shore and seabed: sand.

Hotels [edit]
For the unclear reason, all overwater bungalows are located in the side of the reef, - not in the inner lagoon. So much better is to choose land-based bungalows in the north-east of the island, as every house has its own gorgeous beach.
Theoretically, a minimum room's rate is US$300 per night. However, you are unlikely to get that price, as most of the dates have fare starting from US$900. Don't forget that for that money you'll see and (sometimes) feel the smell of the main Male's landfill (trash island).
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Male international airport (MLE). Next take a hotel's speedboat (15 minutes per way). Transfer fares are US$160 per adult, US$80 per child for the round trip.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in the Maldives is a dry season in the winter half of the year. As for the summertime, a typical weather is "a week of rain - two days of sun".
