Wai Nam is a small private beach in the southeast of
Phangan Island, Thailand. Beach is cozy, with good swimming and snorkeling. Unfortunately, coast is made of small pebbles - not sand. However, someone might even like it. Vegan restaurant of
Why Nam is delicious, but rather expensive. There are dance parties during the whole day every Saturday. But any noise is strictly prohibited on other days. The staff is very rude and aggressive trying to prevent any violations of their "rules". Road to the beach is hard, while parking is prohibited. So it is best to get here by boat from Haad Rin Beach. Boat journey is 300 baht one way per person. Shore and seabed: pebbles.

Hotels [edit]
Why Nam Beach is a great hotel being the only one on the beach. When booking a room, please note that some rooms have air conditioning, but some other don't have. In addition, some bungalows are located very high on the hills.
How to get there [edit]
You may get from Bangkok to Phangan island by
Lomprayah high-speed catamaran. But the best is to fly to Samui island, and next get by ferry from Maenam beach to Phangan island.
There are two options to fly from Bangkok to Samui:
1. Direct flight to
Samui Airport (USM). This way is most convenient, but also the most expensive.
2. Fly to
Surat Thani airport (URT) by
AirAsia low-coster. Then get by taxi (1200 bahts) to
Donsak Pier. Then get to Samui by any ferry (
Raja ferry is the best, but other services are also good). It is
the best value for money way of getting to Koh Samui, but takes a little longer time, as the road from Suratthani airport to Samui takes a few hours.
When to go [edit]
The best time for a beach holiday in Pha-ngan island is a dry season from January to April, as well as second dry season from June to September.
