Walvis Bay beach
Ultimate guide (November 2024)
Walvis Bay is a major port in Namibia. There is nothing to do in town except for sitting in restaurants (by the way, these are quite good).
Independence Beach - in the northeast suburbs - is the only one to speak of. While the western suburbs may offer flamingos and pelicans watching, as well as fishing (it is best to take a boat tour). Near the city, there is also
Dune 7 being one of the highest in the region, though not the highest in the country. Shore and seabed: sand.
