Hotels [edit]

Near the West Bay beach there is the highest concentration of hotels on the island of Roatan dominated by luxury beach resorts. If you want something cheaper, it is better to book much in advance. However, even for budget travelers West Bay is the best place to rent a room.

Fly to Roatan international airport (RTB). Next hire a taxi.

In addition, local travel agencies offer tours to the West Bay Beach, which include a trip in the minivan and an entry fee to the beach.

The best time for a beach holiday in the West Bay of Roatan island is a dry season from February to September.

Though all Roatan beaches are public, West Bay hotels charge some fee to get to the beach. However, if you will be able to access the beach without any fees (for example, by boat from the West End beach), no one has the right to ask money from you. Of course, in this case you should not use hotel's infrastructure.

Sometimes Tabyana Beach and Bananarama Beach are considered as separate beaches. However, it makes no sense, as once get to the beach, you will be able to walk freely to any part of it.
