West Island
Ultimate guide (November 2024)

Cocos Islands. It has Australian population, unlike the muslim Home Island located on the other side of lagoon.
Trannies beach in the north-west of the island is the best one around. Shore and seabed: sand, stones.

Hotels [edit]
Almost all of the hotels in the island are located just near the airport. Hotels are managed by the white Australians, so rooms are pretty decorated. Thus relatively high room's rates are quite reasonable.
How to get there [edit]
Fly to
Cocos (Keeling) Island Airport (CCK). The island is about 10 km long, so if your hotel is not directly by the airport, ask the hotel's owner to meet you on the plane's arrival.
When to go [edit]
The best time to travel to Keeling islands is a dry season from August to December.
