Xiangshui beach

Xiangshui is a beach in the southeast of Hainan island, China. The beach is very nice with picturesque palms and nice walking areas. Please note, that most of negative reviews refer to the low season. You should be careful! It do matters in Hainan. However, there are really strong waves most of time. Probably, California residents will like it, since it's quite typical for California beaches when ocean is cold with strong waves. Shore and seabed: sand. [edit]

Hotels [edit]

Xiangshui Bay Marriott Resort is a five-star property with rooms' rates starting from US$130 per night. It's not quite upscale, since the service is mediocre. But value for money is very good. Anyway, price tag is vary cheap by Marriott standards.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Sanya international airport (SYX). Then hire a taxi. Or you may also fly to Haikou international airport (HAK). But it is located in the north of the island - far from most tourist attractions. You can move around the island by buses. But it can be hard to understand how local transport is operating.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a beach holiday in the south-west of China is April and October-November. The main problem is that the summer is a rainy season (from May to September), while it is too cold in winter (from December to March).
