Yurigahama beach

Yurigahama is a sandbank located a mile to the east of Yoronjima island in Japan. It is completely covered by the water during the high tide. However, this place is popular among tourists. Hotels [edit]

Yoron has just about dozen of hotels, that is not enough even for such a small island. On the other hand, it limits the crowd of tourists, thus preventing this beautiful place from being spoiled.

How to get there [edit]

Fly to Okinawa Naha international airport (OKA). Next fly to Yoron island airport (RNJ) or get by the ferry (2.5 hours per way).

There are frequent boats departing from the east coast to the sandbank. Feel free to ask your hotel about timetable and about the best way to get to Yurigahama.

When to go [edit]

The best time for a holiday on the beaches of Yoron island is July. It is a dry season, and sea water is warm that time. The rest of the time it is a rainy season, or just too cold in the winter.
